On June 3, British Chamber of Commerce Azerbaijan in partnership with bp hosted its traditional Annual Reception dedicated to Baku Energy Week. As one of BCCA’s most important annual events, this year’s reception carried particular significance.
We were deeply honored to welcome the newly appointed British Ambassador Designate to Azerbaijan Duncan Norman, who delivered his very first official speech to the British business community. His remarks highlighted the strength of the UK-Azerbaijan bilateral partnership and our shared path forward.
Following welcome remarks by Zibar Huseynova, BCCA Executive Director, the evening transitioned into a focus on the future of energy in the region. A huge thank you to Stuart Shaw (Vice President Production, AGT Region) and Russell Morrice (Vice President Wells, AGT Region) for walking us through bp's major projects shaping the AGT region.
The evening also featured a presentation by BCCA Sustainability and Energy Committee members, Hugh Kelly and Rashad Akbarzade, who took the stage to share the roadmap for our interactive executive series. This initiative is designed to drive dialogue and develop a sustainable energy future for Azerbaijan.
Beyond the programme, the true spirit of BCCA came alive during networking. Seeing old friends reconnect and new partnerships form over shared visions for the future of energy is exactly why this annual reception is the heartbeat of BCCA.
