AI and Higher Education workshop

9 June 2026

BCCA Education Committee successfully held the AI and Higher Education Workshop: Integrity, Trust and Responsible AI Use on 9 June 2026.

The workshop provided a platform for university representatives, educators, and administrators to explore how AI is reshaping teaching, learning, assessment, and academic integrity in higher education.

Conducted by Dr. Rena Alasgarova, Adjunct Instructor at ADA University, and Dr. Jeyhun Rzayev, Assistant Professor at ADA University, the workshop focused on responsible, transparent, and human-centered approaches to AI use in education.

Participants discussed the limitations of AI detection tools, the importance of human oversight in academic integrity processes, and the risks linked to over-trusting AI systems. The exchange also reflected the growing importance of balancing innovation with integrity and trust.
